Over the last three years Virginia’s public colleges and universities have faced
historic funding cuts. Millions upon millions were slashed. But our community colleges
managed to serve a record 350,000 students during the crisis, in spite of the
crisis.
As “teacher” to hundreds of thousands in the Commonwealth, no other public
higher education institution contributes to the economy and the public good on such a
large scale.
