Creative Idea Award
The Creative Idea Award recognizes an employee or team of employees whose ideas or
innovations have significantly improved or solved a problem which could not have
been solved through established procedures, policies or practices.
Criteria:
This award will be based on creative solutions that have been implemented or
approved for implementation and which correct problems, eliminate roadblocks,
improve productivity, affect changes, etc. The decision for this award may be based
on whether or not the idea of innovation is beyond the nominee’s normal job duties.
Recognition will depend on:
- The magnitude of the problem
- The degree of creativity used in solving the problem
- Whether or not the solution has limited or general applicability, and
- The overall impact of the solution.
Eligibility:
All college employees, full-time and part-time, are eligible for this award
regardless of their job classification and regardless of other awards received. An
employee is eligible for the same award once every five years (beginning 2007).
Who May Nominate:
Any CVCC employee may make nominations for this award.
Award Amount:
$250
Nomination Procedures:
- The person making the recommendation must provide a written description of
the action or contribution of the employee and its benefit to CVCC. Be
specific why the accomplishment is exceptional in relation to normal job
duties (if appropriate for award).
- Nominations are to be submitted electronically using the link below by
March 31 of each year.
- The Employee Recognition Committee may contact the supervisor for
verification if necessary.
- The Employee Recognition Committee will select, by majority, the recipient.
- In the event a member of the Employee Recognition Committee is nominated for
an award, he/she will not participate in the review of nominations and
selection of the recipient for that particular award.
