Microsoft Producer Instructions
Set up Information
Use the fire-wire (IEEE3) cable (there are 2; one is longer and thicker with clear
coating. The other one is purple and came with the camera. There is also a cable to
dump the memory stick onto the hard-drive via USB port)
The power cord plugs into the camera under the battery (There are two parts to the
power cord itself; they plug into each other)
The memory stick slot is beside the battery
There is a strange quirk with this camera. It goes into some sort of screensaver mode
because without the memory stick, the camera thinks it is not in use. It begins doing
funny things with the picture (jumping, shaking, text on top of picture, etc) If it
happens during a recording session, the session will be fine BUT do not start
recording if this is happening. Turning the camera on and off again will stop this.
(Jennifer recommended turning the camera on and off
between consecutive recording sessions)
Push green button in and press down to turn Power on
A blinking icon on the preview screen just means we have no memory stick inserted but
we do not need one.
Turn on the overhead light and adjust
When viewing preview screen on the camera, adjust your position to eye level
with the screen
(The image looks very different so this is important)
Jennifer used the tripod with camera placed a little below chest-high with slight
downward slant
You must use a strong, clear voice for the audio to work properly.
