Mickles Named as Acting Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences
Lynchburg, Va. /Media Release/ -- Dr. Muriel B. Mickles has been appointed acting Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at CVCC effective July 12, 2006. The announcement comes at the heels of the resignation of Mr. John Brandenberger who will step down on June 30 to pursue personal interests.
Mickles is currently a counselor and associate professor at the Community College. A CVCC graduate, she received an Associate of Science Degree at CVCC, Bachelor of Arts and Masters in Education at Lynchburg College, and a Doctorate in Education at the University of Virginia. Mickles has been employed in various capacities at CVCC since 1971.
Dr. Geoffrey Hicks, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Services, made the announcement and will serve as interim dean from July 1-11.
