AREVA and CVCC Create Opportunities

Upcoming Open House on Work-Study Program Open to the Public

Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/ -- AREVA and CVCC are conducting an open house information session on the Contract Employee Training Program, Wednesday, February 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at AREVA’s Mill Ridge Training Center.  Attendees will be introduced to the occupational and educational advantages the Program provides for a career in the field of nuclear technology.  This information session is open to the general public and no pre-registration is required to attend.

The Contract Employee Training Program is an intensive, three-year, work-study program that provides its participants with a competitive salary and paid tuition toward an associate’s degree in technical studies at CVCC.  Individuals accepted into the Program become AREVA employees with year-round pay and benefits including health, dental, and life insurance.  AREVA also provides paid travel with living expenses as many of the duties are performed on-site at nuclear facilities across the country.

The Contract Employee Training Program was designed to meet AREVA’s need for a dedicated, highly skilled, seasonal workforce to meet current and future demands in the region’s fast-growing nuclear energy industry.  It is also part of CVCC’s Grow Your Own program that seeks to provide a trained workforce for business and industry within Region 2000.

Any persons interested in applying for the program must be a high school graduate, should be eligible for security clearance, and have the willingness and ability to travel.  AREVA is an equal opportunity employer.

The information session will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria at 155 Mill Ridge Road.  For more information contact Stephanie Hart (AREVA) at (434) 832-4991 or Mary Canfield (CVCC) at (434) 832-7608.
