Upcoming Open House on Work-Study Program Open to the Public
Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/ -- AREVA and CVCC are conducting an open house information session on the Contract Employee Training Program, Wednesday, February 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at AREVAs Mill Ridge Training Center. Attendees will be introduced to the occupational and educational advantages the Program provides for a career in the field of nuclear technology. This information session is open to the general public and no pre-registration is required to attend.
The Contract Employee Training Program is an intensive, three-year, work-study program that provides its participants with a competitive salary and paid tuition toward an associates degree in technical studies at CVCC. Individuals accepted into the Program become AREVA employees with year-round pay and benefits including health, dental, and life insurance. AREVA also provides paid travel with living expenses as many of the duties are performed on-site at nuclear facilities across the country.
The Contract Employee Training Program was designed to meet AREVAs need for a dedicated, highly skilled, seasonal workforce to meet current and future demands in the regions fast-growing nuclear energy industry. It is also part of CVCCs Grow Your Own program that seeks to provide a trained workforce for business and industry within Region 2000.
Any persons interested in applying for the program must be a high school graduate, should be eligible for security clearance, and have the willingness and ability to travel. AREVA is an equal opportunity employer.
