Live Gospel Production Ensemble to Perform at CVCC

Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/ -- The CVCC Black Student Alliance, in partnership with Alliance of Excellence, will present a one-time showing of the Gospel production “Who Did the Devil Send to Hinder Our Dreams.” The show will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, in the multipurpose room #5124 in Merritt Hall on the Lynchburg Campus of CVCC.

The drama will be performed live by the Essence of Life Drama Ministries and Ensembles under the direction of the play’s co-producers and co-authors, Shirl and Jessie Lewis, Jr. The script centers on a church pastor (James Taylor), who inspires his congregation to reflect on their personal dreams. Angels representing truth, flesh, vanity, and pride, join Taylor’s flock as they take strolls down Memory Lane.

The premise of the play is to inspire the audience through active reflection. It attempts to break the barriers to change in an effort to gain personal fulfillment, while remaining respectful to those who share in one’s journey through life.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres and liquid refreshments will be served, beginning at 5:00 p.m., prior to opening curtain, and a fashion show will provide entertainment at intermission.

Tickets covering all of the events are currently available at $12.00 for adults and $6.00 for students. For ticket and program information contact Kathy Brown at (434) 832-7815.
