Central Virginia Community College

Christy Mann named Administrative and Program Specialist
at CVCC Appomattox Center
Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/4/22/09 Central Virginia Community College has promoted Christy Mann to the position of Administrative and Program Specialist at the CVCC Appomattox Center. Mann had previously served the Center as a part-time Administrative Assistant since June 2007, and, prior to that, had been a Customer Service Manager with United Van Lines.
A native of Virginia, Mann grew up in the Appomattox area and says she loves working and interacting with people she has known all her life. She graduated from Appomattox High School and is currently enrolled at CVCC, working towards her A.A.S. degree in Administrative Support Systems.
Mann enjoys the courses at the Center and wishes more local residents would take advantage of the opportunity to attend college classes in their own backyard. She also takes online classes in the Appomattox Centers computer lab and finds the CVCC online classes to be ideal. She explains that unlike web-based classes in many other places, the CVCC classes allow the student to easily interact with the instructors and to contact them when needed.
Married for eleven years, Mann and her husband have two daughters, eight and four years old. She enjoys scrapbooking in her spare time and continues to enjoy her life in the Appomattox area. She is proud to be a part of the CVCC Appomattox Center and
feels she is making an important contribution to a community she knows and loves.
