Annual Student Art Show opens Friday, April 23
Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/4/20/10 The Annual Central Virginia Community College Student Art Show will open Friday, April 23, in the CVCC Student Center in Amherst Hall. An Opening Reception will be held that evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
All current CVCC students were eligible to enter the show which features paintings, drawings, photography, graphic design, and three-dimensional work. Three prizes will be awarded in each category.
Area artists who will judge the work include Lisa Pitcher, photography; David Eakin, drawing and painting; Lynn Kirby, graphic design; and Michael Creed, three-dimensional work. There will be a $200 purchase award in each category, and the purchased work will become a permanent part of the Colleges art collection.
The show is sponsored by the CVCC Cultural and International Events Committee.
