CVCC/U.Va. to Hold Open House for Future Engineers

Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/02/17/11 -- Central Virginia Community College will hold an open house on Thursday, March 3, beginning at 6:00 p.m. for students interested in entering into the four-year CVCC/U.Va, Engineering Program. Attendees will receive a program overview including scholarship opportunities. Industry representatives will be on hand to discuss employment outlook and sponsorships.

This program offers our region’s students an opportunity to earn a four-year engineering degree without leaving the Lynchburg area. Students complete their first two years at CVCC, then qualified students are guaranteed admission into U.Va’s School of Engineering and Applied Science to complete their baccalaureate studies. Students in their junior and senior years at U.Va are performing well, and most are already employed with regional companies.

The Open House will be held inside Merritt Hall’s Multi-Purpose Room on the main campus in Lynchburg from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Persons interested in pursuing four-year engineering degrees should attend. There will be light refreshments.
