Dr. Lloyd Tannenbaum Appointed to CVCC Local Advisory Board

 

 

Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/10/4/11 – Dr. Lloyd Tannenbaum of Lynchburg has been appointed by the Lynchburg City Council to serve as a member of the Central Virginia Community College Local Advisory Board. He will fill the expired term of Dr. James Mundy. Members of the board are selected from the four counties in Region 2000 and from the cities of Lynchburg and Bedford.

 

Dr. Tannenbaum is currently the director of Rivermont Schools. He served as principal there from 1990-1997 and as head teacher from 1987-1990.

 

Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Tannenbaum played a pivotal role in a regional autism symposium, served as chairperson for a statewide conference titled Virginia's At

Risk Youth: Steering Toward Success, and was nominated as the National Association of Private Special Education Centers’ Executive of the Year.

 

Dr. Tannenbaum was a board member for the Lynchburg Peace Education Center and Kids’ Haven.

 

He earned a bachelors of science in Political Science from American University, a Masters in Education from George Washington University and a Doctorate from Virginia Polytechnic and State University.
