Super Saturday at CVCC

Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/1/04/12 - On Saturday, February 4, Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) and the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA) will host Super Saturday, an annual event that invites college-bound students in the area to receive free assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA), a financial aid form required by colleges, universities, and private career schools to qualify for federal grants and loans.

 

The event will be held at CVCC in Merritt Hall from 10 a.m. until noon. It will include a financial aid workshop followed by a question and answer session and is open to parents and students of all grade levels, as well as adult students. Computers will be available, and financial aid professionals will be onsite to offer free, expert advice.

 

Students and/or parents must bring the following items:

         U.S. Department of Education Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Please register before February 4 at www.pin.ed.gov. At least one parent must have a PIN, if student is required to provide parent information on the FAFSA.

         Social Security Numbers, Student, and parentís numbers if student is providing parent information. If student is not a US citizen, then bring Alien Registration Number.

         Driverís license, if applicable.

         2011 Federal Tax Returns or 2011 Tax Information, including W-2 for student, spouse, if married, and for parents if student is providing parent information. If you have not yet filed a 2011 return, bring a copy of your 2010 federal tax return or pay stubs.

         Studentís family untaxed income records: Social Security, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, welfare.

         Studentís family current bank statements

         Studentís family business and investment records: current business and investment mortgage information, business and farm records, stock, bond, and other investment records.
