CVCC Employment Update

Kimberly French

 

 

 

Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/2/23/12 – Kimberly French has accepted the position as the College’s Academic Counselor and Student Retention Specialist. Kimberly started her career at CVCC in 1996 as the Counseling Secretary where she fell in love with counseling and decided to go back to school to become a Counselor. She completed her BS degree from ODU on the campus of CVCC where she has come full circle and her dream has now become a reality.

Kimberly stated, “CVCC truly is--Where Your Future Begins—it is where my future began and continues.”

 

CVCC is in the process of developing Student Tracking Advising and Retention Services (STARS) to help students succeed in their educational journey. Academic advising is fundamental to student retention and Kimberly will be working with college faculty, staff, and administrators to enhance advising and college services to all students.

 

Kimberly has an AA&S in General Studies and an AAS in Office Systems Technology from Central Virginia Community College, a B.S. in Human Services Counseling from Old Dominion University, and a M.A. in Human Services Counseling--Executive Leadership from Liberty University, 2012.

 

Kimberly and her husband have been married for 15 years and have a son who is 8 years old. She and her husband stay very busy taking their son to practices and games for basketball and travel baseball.
