Merritt Hall Exhibit Showcases Photography and Studio Art Certificate Programs

Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/4/26/12 Collective Vision, the May/June art exhibition at Merritt Hall will feature the work of advanced and graduating students in the Photography and Studio Art Certificate Programs at Central Virginia Community College. Participating artists include Karin Anderson, Mary Bolling, Joshua Cahow, Brittany Calohan, Spencer Case, Brandon Coles, Dick Frisbee, Zachary Hall, Gay Harvey, Cailin Leahy, Corrianne Litchford, Meagan Jones, Jessica Merchant, Jeremy Proffitt, Zachary Puckette, Daniel Sablatzky, Jonathan Sessions, Vicki Shockley, Rebecca Schnabel, Julie Stalnaker, Joshua Wright, and Lee Withers.
The CVCC Career Studies Certificate programs in Photography and Studio Art provide a broad foundation for individuals interested in a career in either photography or fine art, as well as an opportunity for those individuals interested in art as an avocation to expand their horizons. The intent of the program is to balance technical competence with expressive concerns in order to free the individual to find his or her own artistic vision.
The exhibition includes paintings, drawings and photography using gelatin
silver, alternative processes, and some digital work. The opening reception
will be held Friday, May 4, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and is free and open to
the public. The exhibit will hang until the end of June.
The exhibit is sponsored by the CVCC Cultural and International Events Committee.
