Parking and Traffic Regulations


General Information

Central Virginia Community College will not be responsible for loss or damage to motor vehicles or their contents while they are on College property.

Vehicles must be parked within a designated parking space. Any vehicle occupying more than one space, parked in a Safety Zone or otherwise not in a space will be issued a parking citation.

Visitor parking is restricted to a 30 minute limit. If more time is required, check with a college official to obtain a temporary parking permit.

If a vehicle must be left on campus over-night for any reason, notify the Campus Police.

Students unable to walk long distances or climb stairs due to a temporary medical condition may obtain a Medical Parking Permit from the Campus Police office. The student must present documentation from the attending physician, regarding nature, duration and extent of the disability. Medical Parking Permits are issued on a semester basis.

In order to park in Handicapped Parking, the individual must obtain either a handicapped license plate or placard from the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Faculty/Staff Parking decals are not issued to students, work-study students or part-time student workers.
 

Designated Parking Areas

Here is a list of the parking lots here at CVCC. Signs are posted at the entrance to each lot and lot assignment is strictly enforced.

Parking Lot No. 1 Located in front of the Appomattox Building at the bottom of the hill. Designated parking for students, visitors, guests, and tennis and field participants.
Parking Lot No. 2 Located south of the campus and accessible from Harvard Street. Designated parking for students, visitors, guests, and special events participants.
Parking Lot No. 3 Located south and across Harvard Street from the campus. Designated parking for students, visitors, guests, and special events participants.
Parking Lot No. 4 Located directly behind Bedford (Library) and Merritt Halls. Designated for Faculty and Staff members, handicapped persons, reserved parking vehicles, and 30-minute visitor parking.
Parking Lot No. 5 Located east of Amherst Hall. Restricted parking for handicapped persons, college officials and 30-minute visitor parking.
Parking Lot No. 6 Located north of Amherst Hall. Restricted parking for Faculty and Staff and special permit parking.
Parking Lot No. 7 Located between Amherst and Campbell Halls. Restricted parking for Faculty and Staff personnel, and handicapped persons.
