International Students
Central Virginia Community College is a two-year, non-residential, commuter college.
We welcome international students who meet our academic, financial, and language
requirements. Please review carefully the information on this page before
submitting an application for admission. The link in the right hand menu
Applying for Admission contains the procedures for
becoming at student here at CVCC. The other links provide valuable information
regarding costs and specific expectations for international students at CVCC. We
do not mail paper information packets. All the information you need to apply can be
found on these pages. All admissions application materials are to be turned
in to Kitty Daniel in the Admissions Office.
Before Applying Please Note:
- CVCC does not operate dormitories, nor does it assume responsibility for locating and securing adequate housing for students.
- Local bus service for CVCC students is available but limited.
- International students are classified as out-of-state students for tuition payment purposes.
- Financial Aid is not available to international students.
- Tuition payment plans are not available.
- The college does not provide health insurance.
- College policies and procedures apply equally to all students regardless of immigration status.
- F-1 Students cannot work either on campus or off campus while attending CVCC. You must be able to demonstrate that you can support yourself without employment.
Please observe the deadlines to apply for F-1 status at CVCC:
Deadlines for Students applying for admission from OUTSIDE the United States
For Any Fall Semester – April 15th
For Any Spring Semester – August 15th
Deadlines for F1 Transfer Students applying for admission & already studying in the United States
For Any Fall Semester – June 15th
For Any Spring Semester – October 15th
The Application for Admission to the college and all required documentation must be in
the students file by the deadline dates listed above for the semester the student seeks
to enroll. CVCC will NOT accept fax and/or Xeroxed copies of official documents
requested. Deadlines will not be waived. Late submissions or incomplete files
will be considered for the following eligible semester (CVCC does not issue 1-20s for
summer semester).
F-1 students’ in-status at other local colleges or universities may enroll part time at
CVCC with the permission of the original institution. Students transferring into CVCC
from other colleges must be in-status. Please review the rules and procedures for
