CVCC Scholarships

Types of Aid Available

  • CVCC Honors Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One renewable $1,000 scholarship is offered to select graduates from each high school within CVCC�s service area. Based primarily on academic merit. Applicants must be entering freshmen in upper 25 percent of high school graduating class. Recipients must maintain a 3.5 GPA while receiving the scholarship award. See your high school guidance counselor if interested. Deadline March 31.
  • Alumni Association Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: Two $1,000 scholarships for one academic year. Applicants must be full-time students and have a parent who is a CVCC Alumnus. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA while receiving the scholarship award. Recipients are encouraged to apply for second year funding. Finalist will be required to interview with the Alumni Association Selection Committee. Deadline May 29.
  • Chip Anderson Memorial Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One $500 for one academic year. Applicants must be residents of Amherst County with a minimum high school GPA of 2.5. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. Deadline May 1.
  • Dr. Robert L. and Joy W. Bashore Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One $750 for one academic year. Applicants must be full-time, degree-seeking students who have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours and earned a minimum GPA of 2.75. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. Applicants must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and demonstrate financial need. Deadline May 1.
  • Belvac Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One $500 for one academic year. Applicants must be enrolled in the Machine Tool curriculum. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. Deadline May 1.
  • R.R. Donnelley Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One $1,000 scholarship for one academic year. Applicants must be entering freshmen students enrolled full-time in one of the following curriculums: Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, Microcomputer Office Automation, or Machine Tool. Applicants must be high school graduates from Central Virginia and have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. A CO-OP may be offered during the recipients� sophomore year. Deadline May 1.
  • John E. Freese Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: Three $500 awards for one academic year. Applicants must be full-time, sophomore students enrolled in the Administration of Justice curriculum. Applicants must have maintained a 3.0 GPA in freshman level Administration of Justice courses and a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. Deadline May 1.
  • Boys and Girls Club Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One full-tuition scholarship for one academic year. Applicants must agree to contribute time to the Boys and Girls Club at the rate of four hours per semester credit hour. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. Applicants must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and demonstrate financial need. Deadline May 1.
  • Emery Mayhew Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One $500 for one academic year. Applicants must be residents of Campbell County with a minimum high school GPA of 2.5. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. Deadline May 1.
  • Johnnie and Bettye Merritt Family Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: Three $500 awards for one academic year. Applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA while receiving the award. Deadline May 1.
  • Alvin W. Singleton Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: Full-tuition scholarship for one academic year. Preference will be given to applicants enrolled full-time. Applicants must be individuals who were employed by Intermet Foundry or their children. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA while receiving the award. Deadline May 1.
  • Virginia Tobacco Commission Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: Full-tuition scholarship per academic semester. Applicants must be allotment/quota holders identified on the U.S. Department of Agriculture list and their immediate family members. Applicants must be enrolled in a curriculum. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. See the Office of Financial Aid Services if interested. No deadline.
  • Weyerhaeuser Foundation Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One $500 for one academic year. Applicants must be full-time students enrolled in an Industrial related curriculum and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and demonstrate financial need. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. Deadline May 1.
  • Dr. William Reynolds Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One $750 for one academic year. Applicants must be business degree-seeking students with a high school GPA of 2.5. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. Deadline May 1.
  • Regina Ryan Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One $500 for one academic year. Applicants must be female students showing financial need. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA while receiving the award. Deadline May 1.
  • Powell Scholarship
    Scholarship amount: One $500 for one academic year. Applicants must be residents of Altavista with a minimum high school GPA of 2.5. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress while receiving the scholarship award. Deadline May 1.
