What's New at the Region 2000 Small Business Development Center

Have you seen the Region 2000 Small Business Development Center’s new website at www.region2000SBDC.com.  Here, you will find not only a simple form to request free business counseling, but a fantastic list of local, regional, state, and federal resources for your business. The Region 2000 SBDC is now on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest. Small businesses in the area should be sure to follow our pages. In addition to keeping you up to date with the latest classes and resources from the Region 2000 SBDC, they also share tips, information, and other items of interest. You will even see information, workshops, and classes from the Virginia SBDC and the Small Business Administration. Even if you don’t “do” social media, you can still use the fantastic Pinterest page. It’s like a resource library with tons of tips and ideas for Region 2000 businesses. We have information about everything from farms as businesses to the latest ideas on financing your growing company.

Central Virginia Community College the proud host of the Region 2000 Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The Region 2000 SBDC is an effective provider of customized counseling and education for small businesses in the region. You can meet in private with a certified business analyst to discuss your specific issues. Or you can attend small—group trainings for in—depth presentations on critical management topics.

Starting Your Own Business

Starting your own business is a major undertaking. To determine your readiness, you should consider taking the Self Assessment developed by the US Small Business Administration. Whether your results indicate that you’re ready to start or need more preparation, we can help.
