The Region 2000 STEM Teacher Network is an informal communication network of science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) teachers focused on improving STEM education as it relates to the production and transmission of electric power. This network is an initiative of Central Virginia Community College and its NSF grant: “Nuclear Technologies Education: Priming the Pipeline” (NSF Award #0401829).
The Region 2000 STEM teacher provides participating STEM teachers with the means to:
Improve communication among members of the science, technology and math teaching community
Improve the preparatory and educational opportunities at the middle school and high school level in support of energy production and transmission
Improve the awareness of career options in energy production and transmission among students in middle and high school
